Finished writing The Pink Gun today. It was inspired by something a friend of mine posted on Facebook about wanting a pink gun. Wrote it in two days, although there was quite a space of time between those two days. Gonna relax by reading some Hemingway and watching Lockout.
Anybody seen Lockout? If so, what did you think of it? More than just a rip off of Escape From New York? Is Guy Pearce's Snow more of a bad ass than Snake Plissken?
Lockout was awesome! Kind of felt like two different people wrote it though. It's based on "an original idea by Luc Besson" and even though he had a hand in writing the script, it seems like he had an idea of a guy being interrogated over a missing briefcase containing stolen top secret American files, and got some other people to fill in the rest of the story, which is the hero goes in alone to a maximum security prison that's been commandeered by the prisoners, all of them death row inmates. Cause the opening has nothing to do with the rest of the movie except for a very sub sub-plot that really doesn't go anywhere. Still, Guy Pearce's Snow is the ultimate in cool (I wish I was this bad ass) and it's a fun time. Not a great film, but definitely worth checking out if you're looking for a fun time.
